Yahoo Messenger for Mac v 2.5.3 Smileys / Emoticons Mac to Mac
 When I got my Mac Yahoo! Messenger 2.5.3 was the first Instant Messenger (IM) I installed and took for a spin... I'd never used a Mac before let alone an IM on a Mac so it's all been very new but I found myself really comfortable with the layout and features available in 2.5.3, in part it's because it's similar to the Windows versions I've used for years... and in part because 2.5.3 is incredibly basic compared to it's Windows counterparts.
Over the past few months I've waddled along clutching a variety of Instant Messengers that cater to Mac users but I keep coming back to Yahoo! Messenger and I suspect I will for some time. Yahoo! Messenger 2.5.3 isn't the best IM available for proud Apple owners, in fact it's a bit on the dowdy and dated side but it is comfortable :) I started dabbling with the smileys... a teritory I thought I knew quite well, boy was I wrong. k, it really doesn't take much to confuse me at the best of times but working out the smileys differences between Mac and Windows brought me to an all time low.. and for me that's saying something *blush*
 First port of call was of course Yahoo!'s own Mac help pages where I quickly found their smiley help page How to Send Emoticons and I'm kinda wishing I didn't. I think it would have been easier to start from scratch but that's not the direction I started in so it was all onwards and upwards from there... and then a rapid decline into smiley confusion which had me heading straight for my coffee bucket and in search of some online buddies to lend me a hand (and brain). Mac to Mac is a breeze, you wont have any problems and you'll both be able to enjoy the fact that you have what appears to be an almost limitless use of the smileys / emoticons in your IM window (I got up to 100+ and then boredom sent me in another direction) unlike your wee Windows pals which if they are running v6.0 (currently in beta) are limited to using 6 smileys in any given message but more on the differences later, for now we're doing Yahoo Messenger v2.5.3 Mac to Mac Based on Yahoo!s Mac How to Send Emoticons page
